In the larger picture, there are many ways to arrive at your destination, rental car or not. All you need do is live and love consciously! Just what I needed! I'm sitting at my computer, stressing over the fact that I forgot to rent a car for my biz trip next week and all rental car companies are sold out at the airport location where I'll be. Decided to take a breath and stumbled upon this insightful blog.
Thank you for bringing reality to my doorstep. I will not choose to stress over an inconvenience (as I have been doing for the last 30 minutes!).
I will attend to the big picture of my life. I will attend to my mom, who called to ask how I was doing, and I brushed off the phone to continue searching for options.

Some excellent ideas, Ken; deriving meanings from living life experience is essential; but so is the recognition of truth in those meanings; along with the discovery of beauty in things, and goodness in values.

The quintessential questions cannot be satisfactorily answered with speculations; but they be answered with spiritual insight— even if the answers are relative and not exact.

Sooner or later, God is destined to be comprehended as the reality of values, the substance of meanings, and the life of truth. Someday, the supreme value of human
life will be understood to consist in growth of values, and progress in meanings; and realization of the cosmic interrelatedness of both of these experiences. And such an experience is the equivalent of God-consciousness.

I believe we learned to turn adversity into a friend because being always at war is exhausting. A case of making lemonade with the lemons we were given I think. But what if instead of adversity and lemons we could have peaches and strawberries with cream and chocolate. What if we could learn from the diversity of love instead of adversity? What if "the golden nugget of transformation and personal power reclamation" came from just being more of who we really are, in Oneness, in diversity, without duality or adversity? Who would we be and what kind of daily reality would we experience?
